The NEP Initiative process began with in-depth, structured interviews of 75 senior energy industry leaders from every segment of the energy industry. The interviews also included professionals with expertise in labor, economics, consulting, consumer issues, environmental issues, and representatives of state and federal government agencies. The Assessment Report below is the compilation of the issues and ideas that emerged through the interview process. This report was used to inform a weekend conference assembling a diverse and distinguished group of 22 of the nation's most experienced energy experts from the public and private sectors.
